Written and illustrated by Jay Piscopo
"Using simple shapes like triangles and circles he taught the group how to draw cool things like Dracula and Frankenstein. Another cool thing he did for the kids was had a student draw a scribble. From that scribble he used his imagination and artist’s eye and drew some incredible things like horses, werewolf and an alien. As the class wound down, he took some time to draw some cool things like Capt’n Eli and the Incredible Hulk. Not only did Jay make it look easy, he made it look fun." ~ Matman, Secret Identity Podcast

This is a comic which is really ideally suited to younger readers, and I initially wondered how I would get through the book, being well, a long long way from being a younger reader. Yet, the story just pulled me in, part because it's a darned good yarn, but also because it has a nostalgic feel to it.
This is a story that is reminiscent of old television series like 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, and comic books like Charlton's The Phantom. When I was young those were much enjoyed shows and books because they opened a world of adventure, mystery and fantasy, all things Jay Piscopo wraps up nicely here...
"Let me start off by saying that I'm not someone who reads a lot of comic books. I only read this one because a friend recommended it. At first I wasn't sure if I'd like it but as soon as I opened it up I was enthralled by the wonderful illustrations and awesome story line. This comic book would be great for kids or adults. It was so interesting that I couldn't put it down once I started to read it. I was fascinated by the style of illustration utilized and captivated by Eli's story (very imaginative!) I'd recommend Capt'n Eli for anyone. It is a very well done comic!" ~ B.G.Dietrich, Customer Review on Amazon.com
