Jay Piscopo Interviewed by Korean TV Crew

Kirsten Cappy of Curious City arranged for a Korean television crew (MBC Global Media)to interview Jay Piscopo as part of a documentary they are making about the legend of Hong Kil Dong -- the Korean Robinhood. Check out photos at this link. Check out a short video clip of the interview here.

The crew came to the United States to interview Anne Sibley O'Brien, creator of the first graphic novel in America about this classic Korean hero. Once here, the film crew's mission expanded to include the history of the art of American comics and graphic novels and Jay was invited to be interviewed on that topic. Jay is the author and illustrator of the all ages graphic novel series The Undersea Adventures of Capt'n Eli. More about Anne Sibley O'Brien and her Legend of Hong Kil Dong graphic novel at this link.

Keep your eye on the Curious City blog for more information about this documentary as it develops. Read about Kirsten's experience being interviewed by Mr. Kim at this link.

Kirby-Vision is a showcase for creative work inspired by the art and concepts of Jack Kirby curated by Jason Garrattley. This image of Doc Savage by Jay Piscopo was posted on the site today. One of Jay's favorite Jack Kirby creations was his work on The Avenger in the 1970s. Jay has always wondered how he would interpret another great pulp creation – Doc Savage.

Jay is the creator of the all-ages graphic novel series, The Undersea Adventures of Capt’n Eli. He also presents comics workshops for children, teaching drawing and storytelling techniques in schools and libraries. Find out more here. ~ Jason Garrattley, Kirby-Vision
