An Artist at Work

"I really dig Jay's style--its very simple and direct, very old school Classic Comic Book Art." - Rob Kelly

Rob Kelly's The Aquaman Shrine is a fantastic website for Aquaman fans. Jay Piscopo submitted a pulp sketch which Rob posted on the site. Read Rob's blog entry HERE.

Jay enjoys doing sketches that pay homage to his favorite comics legends as a way to keep fresh in his work on The Undersea Adventures of Capt'n Eli. This pulp version of Aquaman was inspired by Alex Raymond. Get a behind the scenes look at Jay's artistic process and what inspires him to create by watching this new short video called "An Artist at Work" which was shot and edited by Maine surfer and filmmaker Ben Keller! Click Ben's name to check out his latest film "bluegreen" and see some really cool surf footage. Watch "An Artist at Work" HERE.
