The Undersea Adventures of Capt'n Eli author / illustrator, Jay Piscopo, is on the road in Pennsylvania touring libraries with his interactive Draw on Your Creativity workshop for kids. Check out photos and video from day 1 at these links and keep checking for new pictures and updates all week.

Fantastic visits so far to Collingdale Public Library, Henrietta Hankin Library, and Easttown Library connecting with fans of Capt'n Eli and introducing this all ages graphic novel series to new fans.

Pennsylvania is a beautiful state and Jay is gearing up for a full day today with visits to Atglen Public Library, West Chester, Public Library, and Tredyffrin Public Library and a radio interview by Michelle Paiva at WCHE.

Urban Adventure Kick Off with Jay Piscopo

On Friday, April 3, 2009 175 students from the Jobs for Maine’s Graduates (JMG) middle school program, Project Reach, came from all over Maine to take part in the annual Urban Adventure educational Scavenger Hunt in Portland, Maine.

When the students first arrived at Unum, they participated in an interactive “Draw on Your Creativity Workshop” led by Jay Piscopo, the Maine-based author and illustrator of The Undersea Adventures of Capt’n Eli all-ages graphic novel series.

On Friday, April 3rd, more than 170 students from the Jobs for Maine’s Graduates (JMG) middle school program, Project Reach, will be unleashed on Portland’s Old Port to take part in Urban Adventure, an educational Scavenger Hunt. The assignment for these 8th grade students coming from all over Maine will be to practice their communication and team-building skills by interacting with Old Port merchants and city officials.

A new aspect of Urban Adventure this year is that JMG is partnering with Maine Reads as part of its Maine Festival of the Book celebration to showcase career pathways in the creative economy here in Maine.

When the students first arrive in Portland on Friday they will participate in a “Draw on Your Creativity Workshop” led by Jay Piscopo, the Maine-based author and illustrator of The Undersea Adventures of Capt’n Eli all-ages graphic novel series.

Jay Piscopo: Public Library of Charlotte & Mecklenburg County

Jay Piscopo, author and illustrator of The Undersea Adventures of Capt’n Eli, will be visiting various Public Library of Charlotte & Mecklenburg County locations in Charlotte, North Carolina April 6 and 7 presenting his Draw on Your Creativity Workshop, discussing his graphic novel series and answering any questions kids have about comics and graphic novels.

Stand by for adventure at Prince Memorial Library!

Jay Piscopo presented his "Draw on Your Creativity" workshop at Prince Memorial Library in Cumberland, Maine yesterday. Twenty-five intrepid Seasearchers had fun drawing along with Jay and discovering a few tricks of the trade.

Youth Service's Librarian Jan Hamilton treats her young patrons to imaginiative programs and a fantastic collection of books. The Undersea Adventure of Capt'n Eli is proud to be among them! Jay Piscopo's School Visits

Comic book artist Jay Piscopo invites students to try their hand at cartoon art and demonstrate how anyone can learn to draw and create comics. Using simple geometric shapes, Jay will teach kids how to build anatomy and perspective to create art that tells a story. Jay can work with large assemblies or small groups.
