Jay Piscopo and The Undersea Adventures of Capt'n Eli crew took part in the kick off event of King Middle School's newest curriculum. They have embarked on an exciting new classroom project with the launch of a special learning expedition called: "The Final Frontier: Creating a Colony in Space."Check out photos HERE and HERE.
It is York 7's mission to construct a space colony containing the prime specimens of humanity. This space colony must be able to sustain human life for 1,000 Earth years. Students will use all their skills and knowledge of ecology, architecture and sustainability to achieve this mission.
Jay Piscopo author/illustrator of The Undersea Adventures of Capt'n Eli will be a part of this exciting new curriculum. He will help students brainstorm the visual elements of their universe using a single concrete scene of survival. How does a person get to work or school in this new colony? What does that workplace look like? How do people find the food they need and how is it prepared? Jay will lead students through the creation of several rough graphic panels that show that process visually.
